Grammar: “BE”: YES/ NO questions and short answers:
e.g. 1>>> We’re teachers. [+]
[?] Are you students? - No, we aren't.
[?] Are you chefs? - No, we’re not.
[?] Are you teachers? - Yes, we are.
NB1: Don’t use contractions in [+] short answers!
e.g. 2 >>> I’m a pilot. [+]
[?] Are you a photographer? - No, I’m not.
[?] Are you a pilot? - Yes, I am.
NB2: For “I”, there’s only ONE negative [-] form: “I’m not.”
e.g. 3>>> She’s a singer. [+]
[?] Is she an artist? - No, she isn't.
[?] Is she a musician? - No, she’s not.
[?] Is she a singer? - Yes, she is.
e.g. 4 >>> Tom and Mark are engineers. [+]
[?] Are they students? - No, they aren't.
[?] Are they flight attendants? - No, they’re not.
[?] Are Tom and Mark engineers? - Yes, they are.
NB3: You can ask the question using people’s names, BUT in the short answers [+ and -] you can ONLY use pronouns [I, you, he, she, we, you, they]
